Looking Back at 2021.

It’s almost two weeks into the new year and I haven’t done a year end wrap up so I guess I need to do it and move on to blogging 2022.

Running pretty much ceased to exist. I tried plogging during parts of the races that I did but never for more than a few hundred yards at a stretch before I was too out of breath and had to go back to trying to walk fast when I could to be sure to at least finish.

I finished the year with more days napping (194) than actual miles walked (125) and 37 of those miles was doing “races”. Speaking of racing I only did 9 for the year.

As far as my other “hobby” my reading was pretty consistent with a total of 64 books just three less than 2020. I read 39 fiction and 25 nonfiction.

Just as it did in 2020 my health dictated if and when I could travel because my treatments changed from every 8 weeks to every 6 weeks then my travel window became shorter. I did get to take some good trips with my dog Charlie. In April/May I took a long road trip to St. Louis and Cocoa Beach that included visiting family and friends that trip was blogged about in last year’s blog as was a trip to Ruidoso and Colorado in July. My final trip was in late September and October. While visiting St. Louis I was able to go to Michigan and “race” to get my 40th state.

In addition to all my lab and treatment appointments this year I had some at the VA as well as three for Covid shots and other vaccines. Finally I had an eye stroke in September that resulted in ER and hospitalization followed with multiple emergency ophthalmologist appointments.

That’s a wrap I guess. 😳
