Catching Up!
It’s April 13th, over a month since I’ve written anything so I thought I would try to find enough to do an entry before Charlie and I hit the road Friday for what I hope is an extended trip. Normally since I started blogging I haven’t gone this long between entries but there just doesn’t seem much to write about anymore unless it’s medical stuff. As a matter of fact I’m writing this while I wait to do lab work and then see the doctor at the Willamette Valley Cancer Institute.

All I can say is thank God for the VA. This was what the charge was for my last treatment. π³

Most years wherever I am even if I’m alone I try to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with corned beef and cabbage or at least corned beef sandwiches. This year I opened a can of potato soup. Potatoes are symbolic of Ireland right. π€·♂️ Then I followed up with some mint chocolate chip gelato to keep my ice cream tradition alive and had ginger ale because at least it’s in a green can. Didn’t even have a beer πΊ! Harder to keep traditions going when you’re alone. Oh well IIWII!

After I finished my Navy blog the question of what to do with papers, pictures and stuff kept coming up. I found a book on Amazon and read it to see if it might provide some suggestions.

This bag was the start. π€·♂️ I have a long way to go the pictures and papers are still hard to just throw away.

Continuing to go through and get rid of stuff I came across the UCCS sports program from when I coached there for three years. I sent it with some other books to Robert Spell.

Continuing with my ongoing health issues I had to a nuclear Gastric Emptying test. It consisted of eating a breakfast they gave me and then tracking its journey through my stomach. Simple but took several hours. Then I also had to have a Dexascan to check my bone density.

We had a surprise snow this week and the weather has been pretty rough. This might explain why. π

Then it was finally time for final trip planning and packing. ππ»

One final treatment before I can hit the road with Charlie tomorrow morning. It’s getting harder for them to find veins to cooperate. Took both arms today.

What happens when the dog gets through the gate and then the gate closes and you’re holding his leash.

In 2019 when I first moved to Oregon I bought season tickets for Oregon track. It wasn’t until this season that we could finally use them and so I went to the Hayward Premier meet. It was a college invitational. The rest of the season I’ll miss because I’m leaving tomorrow 4/15 after my treatment today.

Waiting for after dinner treats.
